K-Pump, a family owned company, located in Oregon was started by Jim Kutella in early 2004. An avid fisherman and whitewater fan, Jim saw a need for a more “user-friendly”, efficient and durable manual air pump that was lightweight and easily stowed. This prompted the creation of the K-Pump!!!

At first, the components were made from remanufactured PCV molded parts. Quickly it became evident that “molded” PVC could be very “brittle” and subject to shattering with the slightest impact. A decision was made to create our own molds and now all component parts are made of specially formulated ABS. Not only were we able to design our pumps to be ergonomically comfortable but we created materials with greater strength, improved UV resistance, great durability and far less weight than the pumps that were available.

The pumps were given extensive testing by professional river guides and outfitters all over the Northwest and were quickly found to be the clear pump of choice. We at K-Pump are appreciative of the input we received as it helped us design and construct a truly superior pump. Because of continued input we are happy to introduce the new K-400 and K-40 models. These are the most innovative new pumps to come along in the last 50 years.

K-Pump is so proud of our work that we back all our pumps with a 2 year unlimited warranty. Today, K-Pumps are marketed in all 50 states and South American, Europe, Asia and “down-under”.
